Balón USA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organization that offers developmental, recreational soccer. Balón USA aims to eliminate the opportunity gap that prohibits under-resourced communities from participating in organized sports. Balón USA’s vision is to bring soccer opportunities to all students, regardless of ability or income. We emphasize physical activity, fun, sportsmanship, and local community involvement for under-served communities.
Our goals include:
- Providing high-quality, low-cost soccer programs to underserved communities
- Building players self-esteem and inter-personal relationships by being a part of a team
- Providing opportunities to exercise and develop healthy habits while having fun in a non-competitive environment
- Offering families a way to spend time together while they support their children
- Giving students something to look forward to at the end of their school day- soccer practice- and a positive association with their school
- Offering students and families social-emotional support through workshops with local mental health professionals
- Fostering community leadership and connections by encouraging parents, teachers, and community members to become coaches
- Providing youth workforce development through leadership opportunities as referees, assistant coaches, or coaches.
Balón USA is currently serving families in Jefferson County, Adams 12 Five Star Schools, and Weld County. Our co-ed teams include students from 3rd-5th grade and are coached by parents, teachers, and community members, many of whom are bilingual. The teams practice twice a week at the school (or in a nearby park) and have games on Saturdays at a local field. Our programming is provided at no cost to the families and all equipment is included. In everything we do, we aim to keep our program accessible to all members of the communities we serve.
